Backwater valves are designed to ensure that water or sewage flows in only one direction—away from the home or building. During sudden heavy rainfall, city sewer lines can become overwhelmed, potentially causing water or sewage to flow back toward the house or building, a situation known as a sewer backup. A backwater valve helps protect against such sewage backups. The Legacy ABA backwater valve features a simple yet effective design that performs reliably. For Sizes 3″ and 4″, the backwater valve comes equipped with an adapter, riser pipe, and lid. These accessories pair together to allow a convenient access point for service and maintenance.

Note: The AB&A Legacy Backwater Valves are to be used for shallow bury applications only.
